Our Approach to Sustainability

At BlockGems, we prioritize sustainable mining practices, focusing on operations powered by Norway’s renewable grid—comprised of 88.2% hydropower, 10% wind energy, and 1.8% thermal power. By leveraging clean energy sources and repurposing miner waste heat to warm local facilities, we significantly reduce CO₂ emissions.

Sør-Varanger II, Norway

Built shortly after its predecessor, this facility is located in an industrial hub and uses its hydro-cooled infrastructure to provide heat for a nearby train repair hall. By integrating into the local ecosystem, it demonstrates the seamless blend of technology and sustainability.

Målselv , Norway

In Målselv, our air-cooled facility utilizes innovative airflow management to maintain performance and reduce environmental impact. The redirected warm air supports a local school gym hall, providing an additional layer of community benefit to this high-efficiency site.

Fabian Cotic is a technology expert with a background in IT, AI and FinTech. He has extensive experience consulting for large financial corporations and helped them navigate the complexities of AI. However, in 2022, his passion for Bitcoin led him to leaving his job in the Financial Services sector to become a full-time Data Center Operator. His knowledge and experience in both technology and finance gives him a unique perspective in the world of Bitcoin and blockchain technology.
